Ongoing Classes for All Ages and Abilities

KUNG FU ______________________________________________________________
This class is a Southern Kung Fu training (Tiger & Crane Style), enhanced by over 21 years of teaching experience.

KungFu (term often used in the West referring to Chinese Martial Arts), is regarded as the most visually graceful yet powerful martial art. Kung Fu is also characterized by its animal mimicry and by its accurately swift kicking and punching in both defensive and offensive techniques.

The class consists of fundamental exercises, forms (free-hands and weapons) and applications drills.

The fundamental exercises involve fluid warm up movements, stances, stretching, punching and kicking techniques. The forms - "KATI" - are a choreographed series of powerful and energetic movements that can be practiced as one linear routine set. The forms contain literal and representative movements of applicable techniques which will be trained by students through applications drills.

TAI CHI CHUAN ______________________________________________________
Tai Chi Chuan's training is especially known for its soft, flowing and slow movements. It is practiced for both its health benefits and defensive aspects. Tai Chi Chuan is considered to be an internal style of Chinese Martial Arts.

The training involves two primary features: the first being the forms - "KATI" -, slow sequence of movements which emphasize an upright spine, breathing and a natural range of motion; the second being pushing hands movements with a partner ("tui shou") which apply the principles of the forms.

The regular training of KUNG FU and TAI CHI CHUAN brings stamina, tranquillity and confidence in oneself and is often coupled with understanding of the deep philosophical significance of its practice.

CHI KUNG ___________________________________________________________
Chi Kung is a system to cultivate and balance our life energy (chi). It is practiced through rhythmic breathing, coordinated with slow (tense or relax) movements, and a calm mindful state.

The Chi Kung
techniques are applied by performing various stretching and strength exercises with the body's own weight in a dynamic way, always with attention to the breath, with emphasis on their expressive qualities.

This practice intends to develop the physical qualities of: strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and concentration, in a holistic approach.

SANSHOU ___________________________________________________________
Sanshou or Sanda is the modern Chinese combat sport of full-contact kick-boxing, which include punches and kicks, wrestling, take-downs, throws, sweeps, kick catches and knee strikes.

The Sanshou training is composed by warm-up and conditioning exercises, sparring drills and free-sparring sections following the Shanshou rules and using protective equipments.

SELF-DEFENSE ______________________________________________________
Self-defense means do everything possible to avoid fighting someone who threatens or attacks you.

This is a Class of Chin Na Shu (Catching and Locking Technique). This term describe some techniques of the Chinese Martial Arts used to control or lock an opponent's joints or muscles/tendons, and neutralizing his/her fighting ability.
